Presidential and parliamentary elections under way as Namibians elect new leaders  

Lead investigating officer in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial Bongani Gininda has returned to be back in the witness stand, at the Pretoria High Court. Yesterday, defence counsel Charles Mnisi, questioned why only two out of six witnesses were called to attend the identity parade of the accused. Meyiwa was gunned down at singer Kelly Khumalo's parental home in Vosloorus in Gauteng in October 2014. However Khumalo who was the soccer star's former girlfriend, her mother and sister were among the witnesses excluded from attending the identity parade following the arrest of the five accused in the trial. Jon Gericke spoke to SABC reporter, Pearl Magubane

Electricity Minister, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says at least 400-thounsand non-paying customers have come forward and are now legally connected to the grid. Ramokgopa was addressing the media earlier and giving un update on the process of recoding customers to pre-paid electricity metres. He says Eskom now will be able to collect a minimum of an additional 440 Million rands a month...

Residents of Westbury and Corronationville in Johannesburg, are calling on government to urgently intervene in the water crisis in their area. This morning scores of residents embarked on a protest over daily water cuts for the past four years. They have used rocks and debris to blockade several roads. Police are monitoring the situation.
