The South African Weather Service says the Orange Level 6 warning issued over the weekend has lapsed, with weather conditions gradually improving across the country. Forecaster Tokelo Chiloane says the severe weather was linked to a cut-off low-pressure system that brought heavy rain, strong winds and damaging conditions to parts of the country. She says some areas recorded more than 50 millimetres of rainfall, particularly in the Northern Cape and parts of Gauteng.
