Electricity and Energy minister, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa  says there will be no extension for prepaid electricity consumers to re-code their meter should they fail to do it by the 24th of November. Ramokgopa was briefing the media on the pre-paid meter re-coding and the Integrated Resource Plan earlier today. Economists have welcomed the latest drop in consumer price inflation which is a a four year low from three-point-eight percent in September to two-point-eight in October 2024. The CPI now stands at its lowest since June 2020 during the COVID 19 pandemic when the rate was two-point-two percent. Falling fuel prices remain the primary factor behind the slowdown. The local authorities have engaged with the households instructing them to vacate the place since it is dangerous to have structures built on top of the pipeline.
