Nelson Mandela Bay has been hit by lockouts and blackouts since Friday after workers vowed to shut down the city to protest against the suspension of their colleagues. Seven officials in Nelson Mandela Bay's electricity department were suspended in the metro's electricity department for what has been described as the biggest corruption scheme in the history of the administration.
