Nearly 17 million Mozambicans take to the polls to elect new president

Nearly 17 million Mozambicans are expected to cast their votes today as the country takes to the polls in what is expected to extend the rule of the Mozambique Liberation Front (Frelimo) political party. Frelimo has governed the Southern African nation since its independence in 1975, with presidential candidates such as lawyer, Daniel Chapo, who is reportedly viewed as a safe choice for business and a fresh face for the country's long-ruling party. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC correspondent in Mozambique,  Nixon Katembo
