The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) has licensed the National Transmission Company of South Africa (NTCSA) to operate the country's transmission system. Eskom has welcomed the decision of the NERSA. Eskom will be divided into three entities: generation, distribution, and transmission, which form a key part of Eskom's Turnaround Plan as detailed in the Department of Public Enterprises' Roadmap for Eskom in a Reformed Electricity Supply Industry.
