The High Court sitting in Nelspruit in Mpumalanga has found the owner of an initiation school, Jabulani Mlombo, guilty of seventeen rape and three sexual assault charges. Mlombo and his wife, Sister Khoza are accused of assaulting and raping 21 girls who were attending their initiation school at Masoyi near Hazyview in 2012. Masemola says from the communications or chats between Matlala and Mogotsi the minister of police was being communicated to or kept informed.

KwaZulu-Natal police say a 22-year-old suspect who had been arrested for attempted murder was shot and killed after attacking officers inside the holding cells at Ntuzuma police station on Monday morning. Police say the suspect overpowered two officers, took keys to the main door and assaulted them before grabbing a firearm from responding officers and opening fire. Tactical teams later intervened and fatally wounded him. Two officers sustained minor injuries during the scuffle. Authorities say the situation was contained after several tense minutes. KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda  explains
