Gauteng Economic Development MEC, Lebogang Maile, says the provincial government has paid three-point-eight billion rand in its first instalment to service the debt owed to roads agency, SANRAL for the construction of the now defunct, E-tolls. Speaking to members of the media in Johannesburg earlier this morning, Maile said Gauteng was is expected to fork out 30 per cent of the debt, with the remaining 70 per cent to be paid by national government. Sanral initially pumped R22. 4-billion and added a further R3.74-billion into building the e-tolls. Bongi Zwane spoke to John Sukazi, Head of Communications at Gauteng Treasury...
