The Department says it received more than 800-thousand online admissions applications for Grades 1 and 8 for the 2027 academic year. US ambassador to South Africa, Leo Brent Bozell III says America will not release the names of South Africans who will be affected by the visa restrictions. Accordingly, the US state department plans to imposed this visa restrictions on government officials and South African civil servants, who shape the land expropriation laws. This also includes those, who continue to promote the "kill the boer kill the  farmer" song. Analysts expect the Reserve Bank's Monetary Policy Committee to increase interest rates by a quarter of a percent when it announces its decision on Wednesday (23 September) amid inflationary pressures and uncertainty due to the ongoing US-Iran war.  The expected hike is also supported by elevated levels of inflation which currently sits at four-point-three percent, a figure above the bank's three percent target rate.  The policy rate is currently at seven percent, while the prime lending rate is ten-point-five percent.  Naledi Mabitsela-Ngcobo reports...
