There have been mixed reactions to the passing of the National Health Insurance Bill by the National Assembly. The Department of Health says it welcomes this while other stakeholders say there has to be  drastic improvements in the health system first for the the NHI to work. Meanwhile, Solidarity says it is ready to challenge governemnt in court  if it goes ahead with its NHI plans. The CEO of the National Youth Development Agency says unemployment is a big factor characterizing life as a youth in South Africa today. CEO of NYDA Ndumiso Khubeka says they face challenges of funding as NYDA to meeting the funding needs of the youth. Khubeka says their funding can only cover 2600 young people instead of 4.7 million people.

Youth Employment Service says it has worked with private sector to create over 200 000 employment opportunities. YES's Bongekile Mzolo  they are still working and pushing for more as it is not enough. YES says it is helping skill young people from schools and universities to help in fast tracking their employment.
