The trial of five men accused of murdering soccer star, Senzo Meyiwa has been postponed to the 2nd of October by the High court in Pretoria. The postponement  is to allow the defence time to peruse over 700 photos they requested from the state.  The defence's cross examination of state witness, Constable Sizwe Zungu is expected to continue when the trial resumes. Zungu has testified that he saw all five accused at a hostel in Vosloorus the day Meyiwa was killed. SABC News reporter, Pearl Magubane has more.

Authorities are expected to assess security responses, community tensions and law enforcement coordination as concerns grow over public order and immigration tensions in some provinces. About a hundred people have been arrested in Bloemfontein after a planned shutdown protest escalated into the alleged looting of foreign-owned shops in Rocklands township. Police say several suspects were arrested during ongoing demonstrations where a bottle store and other businesses were targeted. The protests are led by the National Service Delivery Forum, which is demanding an end to outsourcing and privatisation, action against corruption and irregular procurement, and the closure of drug dens and illegal businesses across the metro. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to the National Service Delivery Forum chairperson Potso Motoko
