Former National Assembly Speaker, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has taken the stand in the corruption trial against her. She is testifying at the Gauteng High Court sitting in Pretoria, she is She is facing 12 counts of corruption and one of money laundering for allegedly soliciting bribes  under five  million Rands from a contractor, Nombasa Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu between 2016 and 2019 when she was the defence minister. The court dismissed her application to have the charges against her dropped and ruled that her corruption trial will proceed. Mapisa-Nqakula  details how she met Ntsondwa-Ndhlovu through a woman named Granny Ndlovu.
