View descriptionShare

The High Court in Pretoria has halted the burial of former Zambian President Edgar Lungu. The Zambian government had filed a lawsuit against Lungu's family, seeking to stop his burial in South Africa today. It argued that no burial should take place until disputes surrounding the former leader's final resting place are resolved. Acting Judge President Aubrey Ledwaba read the order.

The family of the late  former Zambian President Edgar Lungu remains disappointed as they had gathered in numbers;  in the hope of a burial today in Hillbrow' Johannesburg today.
