Update@NoonThe Department of Home Affairs has withdrawn a directive they issued on 28 September that expanded the intake of asylum seeker applications following a Constitutional Court ruling. This directive was an operational decision taken by the Home Affairs Director-General's office without the knowledge or involvement of the Minister or any political office-bearers. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Legal Analyst, Lufuno Nevondwe.
