A KwaZulu-Natal man who confessed to killing his girlfriend in a social media post was found hanging from a tree on this morning. Hw was not far from where he apparently stabbed the woman to death. Police say the couple had a "domestic-related altercation which escalated to murder. KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda says police  responded to reports of a murder in the Malangeni area of Umzinto yesterday.

KZN man found hanging from tree after allegedly killing 25-year-old girlfriend 

Limpopo police officer, Rachel Kutumela, is expected to resume her bail application in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court today. The 40-year old is accused of killing six people and collecting more than R10 million following a killing spree that started in 2019. Kutumela is expected to  appear with her co-accused and daughter, Flora Shokane and her sister, Anna Shokane. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC reporter, Michael Makungo...

Spaza shop owners have welcomed government's decision to extend the registration period to the 28th of February next year. The 21day period  to register spazashop ended at 5pm yesterday. Spaza shop owners are still queuing at the Civic center in Jabulani in Soweto after the centre ran out of application forms yesterday. One of the spaza shop owners earlier caught up with our reporter Hasina Gori. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SA Spaza President, Bheki Twala.

The Basic Education Laws Amendment (BELA) Act may take some time before it is implemented in schools. Experts say the regulations - that will guide the implementation of the Act - could take a while to be finalised. The Act was signed into law by President Cyril Ramaphosa in September, but some clauses were put on ice for three months for further consultation.  The government of national unity's Clearing House Mechanism handed its report on clauses 4 and 5 which caused contention, to the president last week. It is expected that language and admissions policies of schools will be guided by the regulations of the Act.  Zalene Merrington reports....
