Gauteng has recorded a 7.9% decrease in crimes, with murders decreasing by 10.8%. This is according to Gauteng Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Tommy Mthombeni, who released the provincial crime statistics for the 4th quarter of the 2024/25 financial year this morning. Kidnapping and Cash-In-Transit cases increased by 15.8% and 0.4% respectively.
