Former President Jacob Zuma has threatened legal action over his expulsion from the African National Congress (ANC) citing procedural and substantive concerns regarding the ANC's processes. Zuma's lawyers have written to the (ANC) seeking his immediate reinstatement as a member of the ANC and further information on his expulsion. In November last year, the ANC's National Disciplinary Committee of Appeal upheld the committee's decision to expel Zuma. The uMkhonto we Sizwe Party leader was expelled for bringing the party into disrepute and establishing and leading a rival political party. MK Party lawyers have given the ANC until the end of January to respond. uMkhonto we Sizwe Party's Floyd Sgivambub recently said its members are allowed to have dual membership in exceptional strategic cases.
