Democratic Alliance Federal Council Chairperson, Helen Zille may consider putting her name forward for running for the Mayor of the City of Johannesburg ahead of next year's local government elections. According to the Daily Maverick, the former DA leader and former Premier of the Western Cape Province says she will decide by next week whether to apply for the job as a candidate - within the DA - who want to be considered have an application deadline of June the 15th to do so. Zille could pontetially be the last hope to save a crumbling City of Gold which has been plagued by decaying infrastructure, crime and unemployment amongst many other challenges.Jon Gericke spoke to Democratic Alliance Federal Council Chairperson, Helen Zille
