The health Ombudsman has found that some of the patients who had been referred from the Northern Cape Mental Health Hospital to Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe Hospial - and later died of hyperthemia - had literally frozen to death. This is due to electricity cable theft and vandalism. Health Ombud, Professor Taole Mokoena revealed all this while releasing his investigation into the treatment, complications and deaths of psychiatric patients at the two facilities.
