It still remains unclear what the outcome was of a meeting between the ANC national leadership and its Gauteng leadership. This follows the summoning of the province's Premier and chairperson of the party, Panyaza Lesufi to Luthuli House over his utterances on the formation of the Government of National Unity. The ANC's secretary general, Fikile Mbalula had written to Lesufi asking him to explain why his utterances should not be considered a violation of the party's constitution.
