The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) says former Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter, did not have authority to investigate the corruption at the power utility. Head of SIU, Advocate Andy Mothibi says the unit has questioned why Eskom appointed a private investigative company and not law enforcement. The Special Investigating Unit and Hawks have been briefing the Standing Committee on Public Accounts regarding the intelligence report commissioned by former GCEO of Eskom.
