Former ANC secretary Ace Magashule has announced the formation of a new political movement that is set to contest in next year's national elections. Magashule made the announcement from Soweto where he was flanked by various individuals who come from different provinces, including former Hawks head, Berning Ntlemeza. Magashule says the new formation will be known as the African Congress for Transformation. The drama could be positioned in a township, a suburb, or a village to explore and speak on challenges ordinary citizens go through. At the end of it all, they triumph, and these stories aim to inform, educate, and entertain the public.

Gauteng Acting Provincial Police Commissioner, Major General Fred Kekana, presenting the crime statistics for Gauteng for the first quarter of the 2026 financial year. Kekana says overall contact crime in Gauteng decreased by three percent during the first quarter. However, attempted murder, assault with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm, and common assault increased. Kekana revealed Gender-based violence and femicide cases declined by 9.1 percent, while property-related crime fell by 2.7 percent.
