UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer says he will resign but remain in place as prime minister until a new Labour leader has been selected. Starmer's departure will pave the way for Britain's seventh leader in a decade. The threat to Starmer has been building for months, but it increased sharply when Andy Burnham decisively won a parliamentary election to return to Westminster. Starmer's departure comes less than two years after he won a landslide election victory that promised to end Britain's chaotic politics. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Dr. Terence McNamee, a senior fellow at the Montreal Institute for Global Security
