Eskom Group CEO André de Ruyter has left the power utility with immediate effect following a special board meeting at the utility. Both the power utility and de Ruyter reached a mutual agreement  to terminate the CEO's contract.  Eskom says it will announce the acting Group Chief Executive as soon as possible. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Eskom spokesperson Sikhonathi Mantshantsha.

Taxi operators from Ngqushwa have shut down services over alleged government non-payment, forcing school closures and severely disrupting teaching and learning.
