Electricity Minister Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says government is considering its next legal steps, follows a court ruling mandating Eskom to guarantee continuous power supply to various public institutions, including police stations, public health facilities, and schools. Dr Ramokgopa earlier gave an energy action plan update with at Eskom headquarters. He say there is no load shedding forecast for the coming 7 days. The constitution of the seventh administration has encountered delays as the signatories of the Statement of Intent struggle to find each other. These consultations are guided by the State of Intent (SOI), which has legally bound the 10 political parties who signed it. Since his inauguration, all the Executive power has rested with President Cyril Ramaphosa. However, South Africans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the Cabinet and by extension, the Executive. Foreign trained doctors are accusing the Health Profession Council of South Africa (HPCSA) of failing them during the board examination. The South African Internationally Trained Health Professionals Association (Saithpa), says seventy percent of foreign-trained doctors who wrote board exams in October 2023 and February 2024 failed. Saithpa's legal desk chairperson Advocate Rene Govender, says something sinister is at play because the HPCSA, the custodians of the exams, refused students access to their scripts to review and verify alleged shortcomings.
