Durban taxi strike has finally been suspended after a last minute agreement between taxi bosses and the eThekwini municipality was reached. As part of the agreement, taxi operators will pay reduced fines for the impounded taxis at the centre of the dispute. Small businesses and hawkers have lost hundreds of thousands of rands as people couldn't get to work and many shops remained closed. This report from our Durban office

Three people have died in a head-on collision on the R67 between Seymour and Whittlesea in the Eastern Cape early Friday morning.
