The Department of Correctional Services says it has decided to terminate its contract with the Bloemfontein Correctional Center. The centre is contracted to operate the controversial Mangaung Correctional Centre, from which convicted rapist and murderer, rapist Thabo Bester escape last May. Bester was serving a life sentence when he staged his own suicide and walked out of the facility, allegedly assisted by employees from the facility. Department of Correctional Services terminates Bloemfontein Correctional Center contract

The case against businessman Joe "Ferrari" Sibanyoni and his co-accused has been postponed to 1st of September in the Delmas Magistrates court in Mpumalanga. This is for the defence to secure legal representation. All the accused have been granted bail of 70-thousand rand each. Sibanyoni, Daniel Masilela, Philemon Msiza and Bafana Sindane handed themselves over at the Delmas Police Station this morning where they were processed before appearing in court. They are charged with extortion and two counts of money laundering. The matter was re-enrolled today after it was struck off the roll at the Kwaggafontein Magistrate's Court last week when the prosecutor failed to appear in court. Judgment has been reserved in the bail application of alleged political fixer and North West businessman Brown Mogotsi to next week Thursday, 4th June. Mogotsi appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrates Court for continuation of his bail application. The case was postponed earlier this week for the investigators to once again verify his residential address in Mahikeng, North West. Mogotsi was arrested about two weeks ago on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, discharging a firearm in a built-up area, defeating the ends of justice and perjury for allegedly staging a hit on his life in November last year. Judgment in Mogotsi's bail application to be delivered on 4 June

MKP Chief Whip Mmabatho Mokoena-Zondi has been given a bail of R30 000 by the Cape Town magistrate court until she is back on the 18th of next months at the Bellville Commercial Court.  Mokoena-Zondi was arrested early in the morning today on the allegations of fraud. It's alleged she committed offences of fraud up to 60% of salaries of researchers of the MKP. Elvis Presslin earlier spoke to Western Cape Hawks spokesperson Warrant Officer Zinzi Hani
