The department of Correctional Services has brought an application asking High Court to prevent G4S, the operating sub contractor at the Mangaung Prison from seeking relief in ongoing proceedings on a matter relating to the termination of the security company's contract. G4S was contracted by Bloemfontein Correctional Contracts to operate the facility but the department of  Correctional Services terminates the services of G4S last year following the escape of Thabo Bester, a convicted murderer and rapist from the prison.
