The Democratic Alliance has urged Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Nkosindiphile Xhakaza to immediately suspend City Manager Kagiso Lerutla following his arrest. The DA says Lerutla should remain suspended pending investigations, and be dismissed if found guilty. The Economic Freedom Fighters say they are satisfied with developments linked to the Phala Phala matter. EFF spokesperson Sinawo Thambo says the outcome reinforces the party’s long-standing position on parliamentary accountability. The ruling also declared National Assembly Rule 129I inconsistent with the Constitution. Delivering the courts judgement earlier today Chief Justice Mandisa Maya had this to say
