The Correctional Services Department has confirmed the death of Danish national, Peter Frederiksen at the Mangaung Correctional Centre in the Free State. Fredericks was serving two life terms at the facility after being found guilty of rape and conspiracy to commit murder. He was first arrested in September 2015 after 21 female genitalia were found in his home freezer. Spokesperson for the correctional services department, Singabakho Nxumalo explains. Rassie Erasmus makes wholesale Springbok changes for Australia.

Former Justice Minister Jeff Radebe says he was never involved in, or made aware of, secret negotiations between the ANC and the apartheid government concerning post-TRC prosecutions. Testifying at the TRC cases inquiry, Radebe says he first became aware of talks between the ANC leadership and the apartheid regime while he was imprisoned on Robben Island. He says Nelson Mandela later briefed some ANC members at Victor Verster prison in 1989, but he was not part of those discussions.  The TRC cases inquiry continue its cross-examination of former Justice Minister Jeff Radebe.

The Kruger National Park has been accused by young people in Nkomazi of disregarding them for employment. The unemployed youth of Nkomazi have embarked on a protest march to hand over a memorandum of grievances, calling on the management to also hire young people from their communities.
