A woman has allegedly killed her three kids and the fourth one survived at Jabavu village in Port St Johns in the Eastern Cape. It is alleged that she poisoned all of them using a deadly chemical known as a tank pill. She fled the scene and and ran into the forest. The community is shocked about the incident. This follows another case of a  mother from Butterworth in the Eastern Cape who killed her three daughters last month before committing suicide and it was believed the incident was driven by poverty. The South African Weather Service has issued a level six severe weather warning for parts of KwaZulu-Natal, including Durban. Heavy and disruptive rainfall is expected from today until tomorrow, with a risk of flooding in low-lying residential areas and informal settlements. SAWS warns that fast-flowing streams and deep water could create dangerous conditions, threatening lives and property. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to meteorologist Lehlohonolo Thobela

Orange Level Six rain warning remains for KwaZulu-Natal coast 

The National Commissioner of Correctional Services, Makgothi Thobakgale, says the smuggling of contraband into correctional facilities is an ongoing problem involving some officials. Testifying before the Madlanga Commission, Thobakgale says during the COVID-19 lockdown, correctional facilities were closed to visitors and inmate movements to court were restricted. He says the continued discovery of contraband during that period pointed to officials as a source, as staff movements were among the few regular movements into and out of facilities. Thobakgale says officials have also been found giving inmates access to cell phones, which are then used to commit crimes.
