City Power says electricity supply from the Central Substation is expected to be restored by Tuesday, 20 October, following an explosion during restoration efforts. The incident affected Carlton Centre, Standard Bank, Selby, Marshalltown, and City and Suburban. The power utility says emergency services have cleared technical teams to return to the site. City Power is installing equipment and cabling before conducting safety tests. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
