Voting for the new City of Johannesburg mayor may not materialise today as parties continue to struggle to reach agreement. Councillors are expected to elect a mayor after former executive mayor of the City, Thapelo Ahmad resigned last week. Ahmad was facing a no confidence motion. The coalition partners that voted Amad in power, have vowed to protect the speaker of council and the chief whip. They say the coalition remains intact and strong in spite of the resignation and unhappiness expressed by Patriotic Alliance President Gayton Mackenzie. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Horisani Sithole
