Cellphone data analyst Gideon Gouws is back on the stand today, focusing on evidence relating to the number that allegedly belongs to accused number Bongani Ntanzi in the Senzo Meyiwa trial. Ntanzi and 4 others are on trial at the High Court in Pretoria for the murder of Meyiwa who was shot and killed in 2014. Yesterday, Gouws told the court that a signal from a phone alleged to belong to accused number 2 in the Meyiwa trial - was picked up from a cellphone tower near Villieria police station in Pretoria. There is a strong police presence in the vicinity of the Pietermaritzburg Magistrates Court as MK party members march to court ahead of the appearance of an IEC official today. The official is believed to be appearing in connection with matters related to his conduct on election day last month, May 29th. MK party members who are part of this protest also continue to claim that the election results were rigged. The constitution of the seventh administration has encountered delays as the signatories of the Statement of Intent struggle to find each other. These consultations are guided by the State of Intent (SOI), which has legally bound the 10 political parties who signed it. Since his inauguration, all the Executive power has rested with President Cyril Ramaphosa. However, South Africans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of the Cabinet and by extension, the Executive. The President still has a Constitutional mandate but to what extent does the State of Intent dictate how the President can exercise his Constitutional duties? Zoleka Qodashe reports...

Foreign trained doctors are accusing the Health Profession Council of South Africa (HPCSA) of failing them during the board examination. The South African Internationally Trained Health Professionals Association (Saithpa), says seventy percent of foreign-trained doctors who wrote board exams in October 2023 and February 2024 failed. Saithpa's legal desk chairperson Advocate Rene Govender, says something sinister is at play because the HPCSA, the custodians of the exams, refused students access to their scripts to review and verify alleged shortcomings.
