Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwna was expected to table his 2023  budget speech in a short while. Civic organisation, Budget Justice Coalition (BJC) says it hopes that the Minister will not use the social budget to fund the current crises caused by the government's bad spending habits. It cautions that the allocation of funds and reduction in spending to address the R400 billion Eskom debt, must not be implemented to the detriment of other rights found within the Constitution. The Acting National Commissioner of SAPS, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, says police will leave no stone unturned to identify and arrest those responsible for the deaths of women in Gauteng. This follows the discovery of a fifth body today. Dimpane has also extended condolences to the family of 38-year-old Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, whose remains were positively identified at the Germiston mortuary. One suspect remains in custody in connection with the first body discovered in July.  Sakina Kamwendo spoke to the family spokesperson for missing runner Elizabeth Moselagomo, Dawn Gounden, who is also attached to Renegades Search and Rescue.
