The African National Congress leadership has met with party members at a cadre forum meeting held at Umjindi Town Hall in Barberton, Mpumalanga. Some of the issues discussed include the discipline of members when the party's Secretary General, Fikile Mbabula reminded them that no individual, in leadership or not, is bigger than the ANC. This comes at the time when the party's former president Jacob Zuma has endorsed the newly formed Umkhonto weSizwe Political party just as the country heads towards the 2024 general elections. ANC  Secretary General, Fikile Mbabula tells party members that no individual, not even those in leadership, is bigger than the ANC

Former head of the National Prosecuting Authority Vusi Pikoli has told the Truth and Reconciliation Commission that the independence of the National Prosecuting Authority must be protected, even while maintaining cooperation with the government. Pikoli says his approach was always based on tactical flexibility, sharing information where necessary without compromising the NPA's constitutional independence. Pikoli also recalled a meeting with several ministers where concerns were raised about prosecutions linked to apartheid-era activities. He says some feared that pursuing certain cases could trigger renewed calls to prosecute former liberation movement members for actions before 1994. Suspended SAPS Organized Crime Head Richard Shibiri says he did not get himself involved but was tasked by General Shadrack Sibiya to find out what charges Katiso KT Molefe was arrested on. Shibiri was responding to Evidence Leader Lee Seegels-Ncube's question on his invoment in the arrest of Katiso KT Molefe whilst he was on leave and off duty.
