Amnesty International has called on the African Union together with countries within the SADec region to immediately intervene in the political unrest currently ongoing in neighbouring Mozambique. At least thirty people are reported to have been killed with dozens more injured. This as thousands took to the streets yesterday demanding a recount of the recent election which saw the return of the 49 year rule of the Frelimo party which was declared the winner of the disputed recent elections. Security forces have since been using tear gas and reported live ammunition to suppress the protests.
