Acting President, Paul Mashatile has likened the killings of police officers as an attack on the state and equal to treason. Mashatile made these remarks at the annual South African Police Services Commemoration Day. The SAPD honoured 39 women and men, who died in the line of duty between April 2023 to March 2024.  Mashatile says police officers must take decisive action against criminals according to the legal provisions provided for in the constitution.
