Acting National Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Puleng Dimpane has opened an investigation into the injury to a SAPS K9 at one of the service’s training and veterinary facilities. The exact extent of K9 Sky’s injuries is not clear at this stage; however, Sky is currently receiving veterinary care. The Acting National Commissioner has directed a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, including Sky’s accommodation, supervision, care and compliance with applicable procedures and standards.
