Thanksgiving Day, watching the game, and I'm like, my son will manage time better than the Bears. But you know, it is what it is. Iberfluss On, you watched yesterday the Chiefs Raiders game. You're like, Oh, the Chiefs is gonna lose another game in December. Well it seems like it's December to the Raiders. They pull it out. There's just so much going to party. It's coming back to play the Heisman Trophy. That Travis Hunter make his case at this.
Oh oh yeah, Travis Hunter, just like TJ was saying, I think he made this. He made his case for being the Heisman Trophy winner. And I was just having a conversation with my son yesterday. The Heisman Trophy is based on the best college football play in America, not on the best team. I think a lot of people get those things confused. But from what I was able to see and witness, just like the rest of America yesterday, think Travis Hunter made a case for his Heisman Trophy. But yeah, we got a lot of great things to talk about today. Uh TJ just spoke on the a practice.
Let me ask you this though, how did it How did it feel to have your son win a state championship in high school football on New Jersey?
How that feel?
Man?
Man? You know it's it's a real feeling, man, It really is, man. You know, uh, you know what my senior year in high school, I lost my state championship like on the last day of the game, which will forever be one of those things that goes down as like Man, I sat on the bench for like a half hour after the game and just cried. But for him, Man, to be a senior and to the way that you know, this team played and you know, he didn't have to play. And I think that that's the That's one of the things that needs to be highly because Notre Dame really didn't require him to play this year, but he wanted to play and to go out and you know, to do the things that he was able to do Man on this football team, and to win a state championship in his senior year, go out as champions and then do it in the building which was which is seventeen miles away from his high school, wearing number seventeen. It was just one of those things, man, where you know, he doesn't really understand how special it is, but one day, you know, moving forward, he wanted to stand it. But Man will definitely congratulate to the depau Catholic Spardans state champions and football of New Jersey.
Man.
And you know, his last day of high school. It's December twenty third, so we'll be you know, going up to South Bend after Christmas and getting them all moved in for the spring semester. So everything's happening.
Taris will be flowing, tears will be fing You're like, oh my god, he own like tears will be flowing. So y'all make sure y'all record that. But congratulations to your family, to your son. It's underrated. It should have been a five star recruit. You don't get a kid that big, that fast, with the genetics that he has and just start get the recognition later on in high school.
But hey, some of these coaches, man, they don't know what they're doing. They act like they know what they're doing.
And we're gonna get into a coach right now that acted like he knew what he was doing. The Bears fired Matt Ebraflus, and I look at it when they lost to the Commanders. I said, Okay, sometimes things happen, you know, the coach can put the players in the best position possible, the players don't execute. But this can't happen again. Those type of losses can't continue to happen. And then they block a field goal. He's like, oh.
Yeah, so then they end up blocking the field goal and everybody's looking around what's going to happen. So we are just trying to figure out what is going to be the next move, you know for this football team. And uh, Matt Eva eva Flus and the Bears tez we got you. Yeah, can you hear me? Yeah? You went out? No, I'm when you work on.
Let me ask you this because I'm going back to my days if playing, and you can reflect on this, when we would always work on the two minute drill. We have one time out, we have no timeouts. Weren't you always told don't worry about who's supposed to be on the ball. You got receivers looking outside like I'm on, you get off. It doesn't matter who's on the ball. It doesn't matter who's off the ball, doesn't matter to play. Somebody get on the ball and let's go. And you got the receivers worried about who's on the ball, who isn't on the ball? Going through a full cadence when when you're in a huddle everything is on express set hut. And so it seems as if they never practiced any of these things because too much time was clicking off the clock. And when you have time management problems, he has situation situational awareness problems, and it continues to happen. You got to move on from them. Give me your thoughts on the entire bear situation. With ibra Flus being gone, was it longer produce? Should they have kept on the rest of the season. I don't think it was long ago. A dude, I really don't. I think the writing was on the water a little bit with the way you know, everything has you know, transpired over the past two years for Chicago Bears. I mean, you fire your defensive coordinator last year, you fire your offensive coordinator this year, you fire another offensive coordinator this year, and this is you know it was Matt Matt uber flu. He just wasn't getting it done, especially when you bring in the number one picking Caleb Williams in this offense and this team is looking the way that's looking foreign eight and then you just go back to little things as far as time management. We're talking about an NFL football team, We're not talking.
About junior high and high school. The last thirty plus seconds of that football game on Thanksgiving Day, you're in field goal three things that went wrong during this thirty thirty two, thirty three seconds or whatever the case may be. First of all, you're in field goal range right and bar none bare minimum. You can kick the field goal, tie the game up going to halftime. Number two, Your Caleb Williams is football one on one. If everybody's not getting lined up, everybody's just combobulated. Nobody knows what's going on. You can call a timeout yourself. Didn't want to do that. I don't know how that didn't click or register with him being the quarterback that you know, everybody expects him to be moving forward with it. You know his football IQ is very high. He's a very intelligent young man. He drops the ball on that and the number three. Even if you don't get lined up, you want to save your time out, and you can still hike the ball and spike it because you still have a time out. Still you can conserve your time out, but nobody can get lined up. That should have been the first indicator right there to just call time out, even if your coach is is in his helmet telling him, don't call time out. Listen, man, nobody, we're not lined up. I'm calling the time out. So I think that whole thing. And then when you get underneath the ten seconds or whatever I think you had to ball, like four or five seconds left, the game was over with. So now you don't even have a play to get to the goal line in a hell of marriage situation, because all you want to do is get another ten or fifteen yards to make them field goal. More manager before your kicker, so they drop everything in the last thirty two thirty three seconds that you can possibly imagine from a head coach and a quarterback and that situation, even if you can't get everybody back to the line of scrimmage. I don't know what this play was. It must have been one of the one of these players that we've never seen in our life but football one on one Caleb wood Williams. If you can't get lined up, just call the time out, man.
Yeah, I felt like it was. It's just a lack of situational awareness. And if you're going over these things enough in practice, that to me is the key.
If you go over hey, that's not even practice though, but if you do it enough in practice, you're gonna have It's just recall like this is what I Once you see it gets to about fourteen seconds and guys aren't lined up. Time out.
The head coach should be doing these things. You got a rookie quarterback that you know they're in his headset telling them to play the run. Do you know they're constantly in his handset do this, do this, do this. That's on the head coach to call the time seconds. I'm calling a time out.
I don't really don't think you can make the case that Caleb, say, a rookie quarterback man in a situation like this, because the time clock is going off. When you know how much time is dwellling off the clock, you can't just sit there and act like it was all the coaches. Faull.
No for me, I put one on the coaches, because when it's time management, that's you got.
No. Caleb is a rookie quarterback.
You he played a lot in college, but ultimately the NFL game is different. It's so much on your plate as a rookie man. Iber Flues has to call a timeout. Say you didn't want to call a timeout, but once you see that clock hit fifteen and they're nowhere near ready to snap the ball, you call a timeout. Bring everybody to the sideline, and you explain to him what we're trying to do. Okay, now we have fifteen seconds. We cannot take a sack. If we get the first down, either we're gonna spike it or we're gonna call a timeout. If we don't, we have to kick the field goals. So it doesn't matter. But if the clock is running, we still have that timeout, we would have called it, but since we use the timeout, he guys, we got fifteen seconds. As soon as his ball is in play and he's tackled, we have to get up and spike the ball.
We're kicking a field goal. Like, you have to reform.
You have to reinforce that though, because Plexico, there's some players on a team that are really smart, and you notice there's a bunch of players that are dummies.
So as much as you go over stuff, you know this.
How many times have you told one of your receivers to do this and he do the complete opposite And you sitting here thinking, I just told you twenty seconds ago what to do.
Don't get me started with that one. And that's what I'm saying.
So there are a lot and you know, no disrespect, but I mean you're laughing because you're going through your head like I am, Like, man, I done told a guy to do X, Y and Z in and he does the complete opposite literally twenty seconds ago. And so you have to reinforce what needs to be done. You know what you're dealing with on your offensive team, you know what you have and so for me, that has to fall squarely on the head coach.
I mean, I just can't remember a game in NFL history where an offense with squander like thirty plus seconds, getting one play on the field to run to just tie the football game up with a time out. The bass still can be snapped and despike to stop the clock, and you just missed out on all of that, a great opportunity to beat the best team in football at Detroit Line, which is divisional rival, because of time management. I just can't recall a football game that went the way that it did for the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving, especially, you know, with Kelly Williams and you know his you know, he's going to be the next general, generational quarterback, you know, for this organization, the league, whatever the case may be. For Eba Flues, and I just can't imagine, you know, how he felt, how the team, uh you know, was looking at him moving forward, because I just don't believe that you can put everything on Eba Flues to say that those thirty three seconds, uh you know, and he is just the scapegoat fall.
To me, it has to go on on. You go to hell, Mary, you go to Missfield go. I think it's just time management problems. Hopefully he'll get another opportunity as a defensive coordinator. I believe his day is a head culture over. We have another, uh, great topic to get to. Well, we have plenty of great topics to get to.

Hey, that's how you know we getting close? We getting close.
Welcome back in up on Game, Relying from the Tireck dot Com studio.
I'm TJ.
Houshman's out alongside mister Plexico Burris.
Hey.
You know once that Thanksgiving weekend starts to come to an end, comes to a close. Here come Christmas and all the money spending, and there's all the money spending.
Man, Ain't that crazy how it works?
Now we talk about money spending, we talk about a team that is constantly been money. When the game is on the line, some people have called it luck, and I'm included in some people. But when you continue to win the way the Kansas City Chiefs win, you can't call it luck.
Close game after close game, teams.
Fumble away opportunities, whether it's mental or physical. It looks like the Raiders. The Raiders got them, dann Field, god Range, this game gonna be over and lo and behold botchnap game over.
Do you believe.
The Chiefs can three peet the way they've been playing? Do you have that confidence saying I like the Kansas City Chiefs to go ahead and win another championship?
You know what I mean. I came into the season saying that Patrick Mahomes is coming into this season with a chip on his shoulder, not because of the fact that he's been able to win two World championships, because he is embarking on a space of rare air that has never been accomplished before. And you know, everybody, you know, the the bait is he better than Tom Brady. Tom Brady has been able to win you know, seven Super Bowls in this twenty plus, you know season career. But the fact that this team, he's putting his team on his back with the offense that they have and the defense, and to do something that no player has ever been able to accomplish in this business and in this league, is to win three World championships. I think that he's, you know, he came into the ship with chip on the should to do just that because he knows that it's something that he's in a place right now to do something that's never been done. And I believe they will and I'm not backing off of it. But even though that they are winning games in the fashion that they all man this offensive line is not very good. Wanya Morris was getting dogged yesterday by you know, everybody, everybody, And it seems to me that Juwan Taylor jumps off side every single snap at the right tackle position. They have to be able to wait to find a way to shore up this offensive line to protect him. But because that's going to be the Achilles Hills, I think to this team and this offense moving forward, this offensive line and being able to protect Patrick Mahomes, I think Spags. He's going to continue to be Spags. He's going to you know, dial up defensive schemes, you know, for that one game or whatever may whatever that scheme may be for that team on that on that Sunday. But it just goes back to Patrick Mahomes being able to find a way to win, you know, in these close games. Because nobody really ever thought that the Raiders were going to Kansas City and compete. Man shout out to ap Uh, they had an opportunity to win this game. Uh the kick ah miss three field goals yesterday, the box snapped by the center. So if they were in a position not only just to compete, but to win this football game, and they end up losing by two points in Kansas City to the best team in the NFL and still having a chance to win. But I think moving forward for the Kansas City Chiefs, uh, defensively, they have to find a way to show up this offensive line. And I believe when it's all said and done, man, we'll be putting another crown on Patrick Mahon's head and being the first three peat super Bowl winner in league history. Oh no, I got it.
I gotta h when I look at how the season is going, I gotta take the field on this.
I gotta go with the field. I can't. I can't look at it and.
Say with one hundred percent confidence that the Chiefs are going to three pete. I just don't see it happening. Good teams always find a way to win. But when you're also playing a good team, then what happens When you're playing a Baltimore Raven team that should be better from the first game.
What happens when you're.
Playing a Buffalo Bills team that will be better, won't make those type of mistakes, won't miss three field goals, won't botch a snap at the end of a game.
What happens.
So when you're playing well coached teams that understand okay, we are in field goal range. We cannot mess this up. We're gonna do, but we're not gonna We're not going to panic. We've been here before, so when you get in those situations, I gotta take the field on this. The Chiefs are a hell of a team. Their lack of protection on my homes. You can't fix that. You can how you fixing? You see they move Joe Thuny to left tackle. That that didn't help. So they're they're hoping that DJ Humphries, who they just recently signed, is going to be the answer. If he was the answer, he wouldn't have been recently signed. He had't have been on somebody else's team, which I mean really like he would have been. He would have been on somebody else's team. And so this is what you said. They literally can call off sides or false start on Juwan Taylor.
Never seen anything like it. They don't call it, though, why is that they don't call it? They called him yesterday for a legal formation not jumping off sides because he's so far off of the ball that he's in the backfield, and he's basically considered a skill position player based off of how far he is back off of La even though he's lazy, he's lined up wrong and he jumps. He jumps, I swear a split second before the snap at least half of the past place like they never call it. They'll call it once or twice a game, like come on, you see it clear as day. And so.
My thing is that they gonna let the Chiefs right tackle get away with it, let everybody else get away with it. I mean, let's make it fair. And so with the questions that they have along that offensive front, I just I don't have the confidence in saying.
That they can do it.
And it's crazy in our house though, because my son his favorite team is the Chiefs. His favorite team is the Chiefs, and so you know, anytime they get ready to lose, I rub it in on him at pisisen Off so much. But they yeah, the Chiefs is amongst the favorite teams in my house. So just not me, but Tej.
I gotta go back on what you said, man, when you're saying that you got to take the field against the Kansas City Chiefs, but you have, but you understand what the temperament is of you playing against a team going into a game where they're not very good. So oh yeah, yeah, you're from a mental standpoint, like you're not all the way where you need to be mentally or physically. It's really one of those games where you know what, you are not locked in right. So I can't sit there and say that you can take the field against the Kandasity Chiefs being at that plan of loss of Vegas Raiders team that's two and eight, because you know you're going to the game you're bay saying they said, you know what, man, this is a game that we're going to win, and we need to find a way to sharpen and to fine tune everything around us moving forward. Get out of the game healthy, because this is a game that basically they shouldn't be able to compete with us based off of who we are as a team. And I've been in those games and you know they are some of the toughest games to play because when you go into it, you're like, man, we're ten and one. You know they're two and two and nine. Man, let me just get into the game, play hard, get off the field healthy. You're not really going into the game like, oh, we're playing against the two time MVP and Lamar Jackson or Josh or Josh Allen in a playoff game, It's not the same mentally as far as approaching the game from a preparations.
I do agree. I agree with that, But with all that being said, they still have to be able to protect.
Man.
My Homes look so disgusted on one of those sacks, like, buddy, you really can't blocking like that's the look on his face was such a look of disgust, like are you kidding me? And so yesterday, as long as they had that problem at left tackle, maybe DJ Humphrey sols and maybe he doesn't. Are they gonna call the false start on Juwan Taylor and the critical Who knows what happens. But the Chiefs, as long as they have Mahomes and Andy Reid will always be a good team. But a three peat I'm taking the field. And right now we need to talk to our main guy, Isaac loyncrime Illo. We gotta have these updates what's going on in the world of college football and everything else.
Hello, fellas. Let's start with the one hundred and twentieth meeting between Ohio State and Michigan, and right now, the second ranked Buckeyes out to a three to nothing lead over the Wolverines in Columbus in the first quarter with six minutes and fourteen seconds remaining on a twenty nine yard field goal by Jaden Fielding, Vanderbilt has a fourteen to seven lead over a rank Tennessee eight minutes and forty eight seconds left to play in the first quarter. It started when Vanderbilt's Junior Cheryl returned the opening kickoff one hundred yards for a touchdown. Tennessee then lost a fumble and Vanderbilt Cedric Alexander scored on a four yard touchdown one but a short time ago, Tennessee came back on a twenty nine yard touchdown pass from nico Ea ma Leava to let me try that again, nico Ea Malayava twenty nine yard touchdown pass to Dante Thornton Junior to get the Volunteers back within a touchdown. Number fifteen South Carolina and twelfth rank Clemson are scoreless in the final minute of the first quarter, and Northwestern up ten to seven over number twenty three Illinois with one and a half left in the first quarter thanks to a pick six moments ago by Northwestern's Devin Turner. Finally, guys some college football new off the field. Stanford has hired former star quarterback Andrew Luck as its new general manager. In a related story, I look forward to the day when I can announce that Michigan State has hired Plexico Burra says it's new general manager. Oregon State has hired T. J. Hushman Zada as its new general manager.
Back to you, hey, man, we just need we just need our respective schools man when we send them kids to listen to to what we say and the kids we trying to send them out. Love man, I'd be trying to send kids up to my school man. Them dudes don't even listen to me. I just talked to somebody the other day. I think they're gonna start to listen.
That's why you need to become general manager.
Get that, baby, No, I don't know. I got.
I gotta be the general manager to my own son from the general manager somebody else. Sony truth, you gotta make show. I got to make sure my son is going down the right path.
You got the right priorities, no doubt.
I'll appreciate you, baby. Thank you mane.
Now listen, let's see did this guy have the right priorities. Daniel Jones gets released from the Giants, obviously nobody claimed them, and he had his he had his pick where am I gonna go? He had an options and he chose to sign with the Minnesota Vikings. If you were in Daniel Jones' position, what would you have done?
I mean, based off of his position in him being a quarterback going to a place where the quarterback position is not completely concrete or stable. And Sam Donald we know JJ McCarthy went down with the injury before the season started. I mean, it's not one of those places where you can say that Sam Donald is the the quarterback of the future for this organization. And knowing Ko. I had the opportunity to play with Ko with the Jets for a year, and he understands football. He's sharp, He's in tune with these younger generation of players what he needs to be and who he needs to be as a head coach for these young guys to buy into what he's teaching. And if you look at you know, Daniel Jones, he said to himself, listen, I'm going to a place where I'm gonna be playing the Dome. The NFC North is probably the most competitive you know conference in all of football right now. And if I want to play quarterback in this business and take some of the pressure off of me, I'm going to play with Jordan Addison, Justin Jefferson, and I have Aaron Jones behind me. So I think if you quarterback moving forward, where you've struggled to not have playmakers or elite playmakers at the position to make you look just a little bit better, why not go to Minnesota if you have the opportunity. You're not just want to pick up and go to Arizona or go to Carolina, even if you can be the starter. You have struggled as a quarterback. Everybody is questioning your ability to readcoverage, just to liver the football properly, and to have the excuse of not having players around you. So now you put yourself in a situation to where you have the best wide receiving all football and you have Jordan Nadison, who I think these two guys together are the best duo in all the football together. But if you're Daniel Jones, why not go to Minnesota to a place where you have all of these options.
I believe he went to Minnesota for one reason and one reason, only to learn, to learn, to learn from who and what from Kevin O'Connell. Yes, when you look at the way Sam Donald has played this season and the way Sam Donald was maligned obviously in New York and Carolina, and then he goes to San Francisco sits a year and he's playing extremely well. He wants to see what Kevin O'Connell was teaching that he hasn't been taught. And so I don't believe he ever plays for the Vikings. I really don't. I think this is more of a let me go here and learn, or hope I can learn, because I think dable's a hell of a coach, and so I don't know how much he can learn from O'Connell that he won't he wouldn't have learned from Dabel. I'm sure maybe some things here and there, But either Sam Darnold or JJ McCarty is going to be the quarterback of the Vikings. So Daniel Jones went there as a way to better himself as a player. I don't mind it. I actually like it. I think what Kevin O'Connell does offensively, the way he's breaking things down, it's something to where his quarterbacks. They're all successful. Kirk Cousins was Kirk Cousins before Kevin O'Connell. But you look at the Josh Dobbs and those guys. Anytime they got a chance to play last year, they played well. And so Kevin O'Connell is a coach that I don't know if he's making things easy or he just teaches it to where it seems like it's easy. So Daniel Jones and his representatives felt like that was the best situation, and I actually I actually agree. I don't see him playing there for the Vikings, but I do believe him going to the Vikings.
Was a smart decision. Yeah it was. Man. You know one thing about Ko Man, I had the opportunity to share the building with him for a year man, and he's he's in tune to what this league is now. And I think one of the one of the things that you know, we need to highlight about him is that when you have a Justin Jefferson on your football team and he's the highest paid wide receiver or skill position player in all of football and still being able to keep this team and this young man engaged to what he's teaching, you know, I really think it says a lot about him as a player that he was and a coach, because it's hard for a young coach to come into this league and then have the full respect of your team and these locker room and the way that these you know, these younger players are now and this generation to to what you're teaching. So I think that says a lot about him who he is and for this team, you know, for him being a young football coach moving forward, and you know, having the ultimate respect for him as a as a as a as a young coach, and to keep going out and playing well every single weekend. And everybody knows that Justin Jefferson is a focal point of his offense. But he finds a way to put this man in situations, whether he's the one outside or he's the number three wide receiver inside or he's in a slot, to find a way to get this man in football every single Sunday. Man, I think, I think it's a beautiful thing if you just sit down and watch it.
Special coach hopefully help put Daniel Jones in a position mentally to where he can be a special player.
We got some real tunes today, aout what I'm talking about.
Welcome back in up on Game All from the Tirereck dot Com studio.

Rock Party after one game absence, it's back playing for the Niners, but they play the Bills in Buffalo in December. I know it's gonna be crazy snow in Buffalo. Brock Party gonna be able to handle all this cut shoulder injury in the snow.
I'm assuming it's the snow. It's gonna be chilly. It's gonna be chilly, That's all I can say. Man, Wendy and May. Yes, it's probably gonna be in the teams. Uh, the weather's not supposed to be to exact thing standards. Moving forward for tonight and tomorrow, So with Bark Purty coming back, going into Buffalo, going to this. This is what Buffalo Bills fans live for. They live for in clement weather, you know, especially a West Coast football team, you know, coming into Buffalo Man Base, you might as well say the symbol I had. I had an honor playing with my good friend Sam Madison. Man. People shout out to mad Dog when he was playing for the Miami Dolphins, you know, when he came to New York in O seven we was able to win the championship. He said, Man, when you play for the Miami Dolphins, when the schedule comes out, you look at one game. You look at when are we playing the Buffalo Bills? And when are we playing them in September in Buffalo? Are we playing them in December? And it's going to be one of those things. I think for them, it's gonna be a tough football game. Josh Allen is playing at a MVP, you know level right now. And I did not think that the Buffalo Bills will be this good this season without the singletary, without Stefan Diggs, and I thought that the defense was, you know, not getting any better. But shout out to Sean McDermott man rallying this football team and Josh Allen being able to command this offense with rookie wide receiving, Kean Coleman and Khalil Secured Man. I think they're playing from really, really good football right now. So it's gonna be a tough mountain for Brock Party and this banged up forty nine a team going into Buffalo and trying to get a win tomorrow.
Yeah, just off of having a shoulder injury in that type of weather, I believe it's gonna be tough sled and the Niners need this win in the worst way. But you got a quarterback that has a shoulder problem, and you're a quarterback that that's a bad problem to have in this type of weather. And so for the Niners and Brock Party man, it was a season that many had big aspirations for him. May underperform, may not even make the playoffs, but it happens to the best of them.
That that's the thing. It happens to the best of them. And can I say this for everybody out there, the San Francisco forty nine ers window to win the World Championship has closed. Oh yeah, yeah, I agree, it's over. It's over.
They had a great run but hey, everybody, All great runs come to an end at some point. This first hour has come to an end. We'll be right back, y'all. Stay tuned in for the second now we're up on game Fox Sports Radio
