Welcome back into the Penn State Paul, So, I'm your host Stilan Dawson. Since West Virginia didn't exactly live up to the hype, this weekend is Penn State's first real test of the season. Number nineteen, Illinois comes to Happy Valley for a primetime matchup in what has now become an unofficial whiteout. The line on this thing opened at seventeen and a half and as I'm recording this, it's currently at nineteen and a half. So PSU is a heavy home favorite here. So let's get this thing started with some Illinois players to watch, and there are quite a few which might come to the surprise of a few of you. Their quarterback is Luke Altmeyer. A lot of you probably recognize that name if you aren't familiar. He appears to have made quite a bit of improvement from last year to now. Last year when he played Penn State through four picks, but so far this season he has ten passing touchdowns and zero interceptions. He's been a lot better with protecting the football. He's an old miss transfer. He also has eight hundred and sixty two yards through his first four games on the season. So Luke Altmeyers looked pretty damn good. They also have a very good duo at wide receiver, and the top guy is probably Pat Bryant. He is about six three two hundred, but he's pretty quick and elusive for a bigger style receiver. He has twenty catches for three hundred and nine yards and six touchdowns on the year, which I believe leads the big ten Zacari Franklin is the other name to know wide receiver. He's the other impact guy. He leads them in catches right now with twenty one. He spent four years at UTSA and then transferred to Ole Miss, where I believe he dealt with some injuries last year, and now he's transferred to Illinois for his sixth year of college football. Looking over their roster, that's actually a pretty common tre and for Illinois, they have a lot of fifth, sixth, even seventh year guys on their roster. This is a very veteran experienced team. As far as the Kari Franklin, he has not been a big play guy for them this season, but he is a very reliable receiver who will make the tough catch and move the chains pretty consistently. I think maybe Park of Washington as a fairly quick and easy comparison. Cadenveigan is their guy at running back. He's also not necessarily a big play guy. But this kid is a moose. He stands at six foot three two and fifty pounds. He has pretty good balance and vision, and he moves well for his size. I don't really think Illinois is going to go to him too much this Saturday. They haven't really been a running team this season, but he's still someone to watch, maybe just as far as moving the chains and just picking up those short yarded situations, but as far as the offense. Brat Bilima has allowed Altmeyer and those wide receivers to sort of take over the offense this season, which goes against what we traditionally see from an Illinois team. So moving on to the defense, their top guy on that side of the ball is probably cornerback Xavier Scott. He has already piled up eighteen tackles, three picks, two tackles for loss, two passes defense, a sack, and a force fumble through only four games. He's super fast and physical, and he is a true ballhawk. This guy is probably gonna make some plays on Saturday. So he wears number fourteen, so get ready for that. Dennis Briggs junior, He is probably their top guy on the d line. He stands at six four to two eighty. He is in his seventh year of college football. He spent his first six at Florida State before transferring to Illinois this season, where he has made a pretty nice impact. He has eighteen tackles himself through four games, along with three tackles for loss and two sacks, which is pretty impressive for an interior defensive lineman. Dylan Rosieck he is their top linebacker and the last guy that I wanted to highlight. He was one of their leading tacklers last season, if not their top tackler. He had eighty two total tackles along with four forced fumbles. He's kind of becoming known for causing fumbles. He's on pace to actually top that. He already has two forced fumbles this year. He also has twenty three tackles, a sack, and a tackle for loss. He's pretty quick. He's like six to one, so he's a little bit that Curtis Jacob's mold at linebacker, where he's smaller than usual, but he can still move around cover really well, just fly around the field from sideline to sideline. So let's get us some game predictions now. First up, as I mentioned earlier, Luke Altmeyer has yet to throw a pick this season. It's gonna be a good test for the Penn State secondary, and I think they come away with not one but two interceptions this Saturday. Although I believe the secondary will take some lumps along the way and give up a few explosive plays through the air, I think they'll rebound with some big plays of their own. Like I said, this would be a really good test for Penn State secondary, so I'm pretty excited to see how that plays out. Next up, This Illinois secondary is very good. I think it's probably the second best PSU will see all season, behind only Ohio State. They like to play man coverage mostly like ninety percent of the time, and a lot of the time that is aggressive press man too. I truly believe this offense has turned a corner under Andy Kottniki and we'll pass their test to Saturday with flying colors. The past game, in particular, the explosive plays have been frequent and I don't see that slowing down against tougher competition. So for my second prediction, give me three hundred plus pass yards against Illinois for Drewler.

What's up? Everybody's LeVar Arrington here, and you know we're always keeping you up on game when it comes to everything football, NFL, NCAA, that's right, you name it. And then for my third and final addiction, the over under for this game is at forty seven and a half right now, and I think these two teams smash that over. I see his being a fairly high scoring game as Penn State's offense will sort of hit another gear. I think Kyle Nicky's been keeping a lot tucked under his sleeve and he'll let a little bit of that out on Saturday. And I think the defense will have a few issues to sort out that may take a few quarters to do so, so let's jump into the final score. I think this is going to be a pretty close game in the first half, but Penn State should be able to pull away. I'm going with thirty six to twenty Penn State. I can see it being something like twenty to seventeen at halftime and PSU just kind of leaning on Illinois until they pull away in the second half. So that is all I have for you guys. Thank you so much for tuning in, have a great finish to your week, and enjoy the game. If you're going, I'm your Hostelan Dawson signing off
