Shauwn Mkhize, better known as ‘Mamkhize’ was born and raised in the village of
Embumbulu in KwaZulu-Natal. Though her beginnings were nothing short of humble today she is a renowned businesswoman, entrepreneur, philanthropist and one of Mzansi’s most influential personalities.

Her career began more than 25 years ago after she graduated with a Diploma in
Accounting from ML Sultan Technikon now known as Durban University of Technology. She went on to work in finance departments for multiple companies, however, due to a lack of fulfillment in her job she was inspired to go into business to create a better life for herself and her family.This inspiration was paired with her love for helping others and being a conduit for change. She started off with small projects from the local municipality which included feeding schemes, painting and construction work. Through many years of hard work, resilience and dedication those small projects soon became big projects and a stepping stone to building her family empire.
