Episode 7: Penelope Jordan

A bike rave,Korean BBQ, bouldering and pole dancing are just a handful of new things the First Timers Club has tried, since kicking off in January 2024. And Penelope Jordan couldn’t be more thrilled that her idea for a club for curious grown-ups looking to connect with others, has taken off. The genesis for FTC came after she returned from a stint overseas and following Melbourne’s COVID lockdowns, when she and her friend Rosie held their first activity when it was just the two of them. But the popularity has grown, where complete strangers come together to do a thing, realising the ‘first time’ isn’t necessarily about the activity, but rather getting past the fear and anxiety of showing up in the first place.
