Detection dogs can help detect trafficked wildlife in shipping containers, a new study from Adelaide University has found. Dr Georgia Moloney and her team partnered with shipping company CMA CGM to design a new approach to screening shipping containers for trafficked wildlife. Using an air sampling device attached to the shipping container vents, their specially trained detection dog Stan was able to detect hidden wildlife items like pelts with 98% accuracy.
