COMMUNITY SHAPES OUR JETTY
✅ The revitalisation of the Coffs Harbour Jetty Foreshores is being refined with an even greater focus on open space and community uses for locals and tourists, support for local businesses, and tourism opportunities following extensive community consultation.
✅ The revised plan adds about 2.5 football fields of open green space, significantly improves parking, creates exciting tourism opportunities, and limits residential development to only 1.5% of the site.
✅ Affordable, diverse and key worker housing is proposed to enhance inclusiveness within the precinct.
✅ Jordan Esplanade will run along the train line at the southern end creating a large “village green” style amphitheater for community use
✅ Work is underway on a planning proposal that will be lodged directly with the Department of Planning and Environment (process can take up to two years).
✅ Proposed Land Uses
- 39% Enhanced Existing Vegetation
- 35% Open Space & Public Domain
- 20% Parking and Roads
- 6% Developed Built Form (3% tourist, 1.5% residential, 1.5% commercial and community)
✅ The State Government will continue to work positively and collaboratively with council on the planning proposal.
