In part one we step back into the Barossa Valley of 1972 and join archaeologist-adventurer Alex Hartley, his practical partner Sam Rivers, and eager protégé Jessie Flynn as they uncover a mystery hidden for centuries. What begins with the discovery of an old chest in a regional museum soon leads to clues pointing toward a legendary pirate treasure, a forgotten palm tree, and the mythical "Barrel of Forever."

As the trio follows a trail stretching from the Barossa to Kapunda, they encounter buried secrets, pirate legends, abandoned mine workings, and the ever-present threat of the scheming Vangrove twins, who are determined to claim the treasure for themselves.
