When Britney Griner was taken prisoner in Russia for bringing in illegal drugs, she became more famous as an American hostage than she ever was as an athlete—media made her cause the cause of freedom and her release was celebrated as America’s victory.
This week, American Edan Alexander was released from Hamas captivity after 19 months of torture. Most still don’t know his name, but our media and the Democrats sure made known the detention of two others Edan Alexander’s age: the Hamas propogandist Mahmoud Kalil and the illegal alien, criminal gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Their cases and causes were news everywhere.
Thank God Edan Alexander has been released. But he was, evidently, the wrong kind of prisoner and hostage for the media and the left: innocent, American, and Jewish … captured by Hamas. His name, plight and his torturous treatment in captivity deserved far more attention. And: His release deserved far more celebration.
Our nation needs some soul searching.
