Kamala Harris is stuck in a media doom loop. Her internal polling must be telling her she needs to do more interviews. But when she does, things only get worse for her.
Take her “60 Minutes” interview. What a debacle. Harris didn’t fall back on her old standby about coming from a middle class family, but she did dodge the tough questions again. Whether it was immigration or how she’d pay for her economic programs, no answers were forthcoming.
A great portion of the television segment consisted of correspondent Bill Whitaker editorializing over film of the conversation, as if to translate what Harris was saying into plain language.
In the outtakes, results were—if possible—even worse. Harris identified Iran as America’s greatest threat, completely ignoring China.
The takeaway was clear and it was damning: Kamala Harris isn’t ready for prime time.
