Iran, Israel and a New Era in the Middle East

The Iranian regime attacked Israel on Saturday with over 300 drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Most Americans were horrified by the news. They would have been appalled to realize that America has effectively funded these drones and missiles that rained down on our closest Middle Eastern ally, thanks to the disastrous Obama/Biden Iran policy.

The Obama deal with Iran did nothing to curb its long-term nuclear ambitions. And: It did provide Iran with billions in sanctions relief. After Biden came into office, the nuclear deal was resurrected, with billions more in sanctions relief funneled to Iran. By October 7 of last year, sanctions relief to Iran had totaled more than 50 billion dollars.

That can buy plenty of drones and missiles.

It’s time for the Biden administration to do what’s right—and stop appeasing the enemies of our country and its allies.

The Middle East has long been one of the most volatile places on planet Earth.

I mention it, of course, because of Iran’s recent attack on Israel.

Now the good news is this: This massive attack upon Israel was largely ineffectual.

But the fact remains: This was a direct attack upon Israel by the Islamic Republic of Iran. It was not undertaken by Iran through a proxy state or a proxy force, through shadow armies and shadow armed forces, shadow terrorist organizations—no this was Iran as Iran attacking Israel.

And: It was a massive attack. By American estimations, there were about 170 drones, 120 ballistic missiles, and about 30 cruise missiles that were sent with high explosives. 

History is right now developing before our eyes.

We are moving thus into a different historical epoch—when Iran has directly attacked Israel. 

Yes: Israel must respond. And our nation should fully support them as they do.
