Ever since the October 7 massacres inflamed the radical Left in the US, Joe Biden has tried to force Israel into compromises that would force them to allow Hamas to survive the war. This week, NBC News reported that Biden now wants to deal with Hamas directly on American hostages and cut Israel out entirely. 

This abruptly changes months of avoiding the issue of Hamas’ American captives. The media has ignored them, and the Biden administration only refers to them when necessary—usually as leverage against Netanyahu’s government in Jerusalem. The timing of this trial balloon seems especially suspicious, given the spectacular success of the IDF’s hostage rescue operation this past weekend. 

Western nations have foolishly dispensed with the best policy—that is: never to negotiate with terrorists. Biden takes it all in a particularly malevolent direction: Cutting Israel out of the loop while pushing a two-state solution at the UN.

In a word, it’s despicable.
